In the modern highway logistics and multimodal transport system, semi-trailers, as core transportation equipment, are divided into various special models according to transportation scenarios, cargo types and functional requirements. Among them, stake fence semi-trailers and container semi-trailers are the most widely used, covering bulk cargo transportation and standardized container multimodal transport respectively. These two types of semi-trailers have obvious differences in structural design, functional positioning and application scenarios, and are indispensable equipment in the commercial vehicle logistics system.
1.. Stake Fence Semi-Trailers

Stake fence semi-trailers are special semi-trailers with a fence structure at the cargo area, mainly used for transporting agricultural and sideline products and other light and bulky goods. They feature lightweight design, strong versatility and low operating costs, making them the mainstream model for urban and rural logistics and trunk line less-than-truckload transportation.
The body and fence structure are reasonably designed according to the user's cargo category. Under the premise of meeting the load capacity, the weight of the carriage is fully reduced. The structure is simple, practical and easy to disassemble, which helps users reduce investment costs and create more economic benefits.
The frame adopts a spatial frame structure welded by longitudinal beams and integrally through cross beams, which balances strength, rigidity and toughness. It has strong bearing capacity and no permanent deformation occurs during long-term use. All frames adopt a through-beam structure, with straight or gooseneck longitudinal beams, and web heights ranging from 400 to 500. Longitudinal beams are welded by automatic submerged arc welding, and the frame is treated by shot blasting. Cross beams penetrate into longitudinal beams and are welded as a whole to ensure stable structure and reliable workmanship.
The suspension system adopts a new special structure with high strength and strong impact resistance. The axle load of each shaft is balanced, and the pull rod angle is reasonably designed to reduce friction and slip between tires and the ground, lowering tire wear. The adjustable pull rod can flexibly adjust the wheelbase, effectively avoiding tire eccentric wear and wheel gnawing, improving driving safety and service life.

2. Container Semi-Trailers
Container semi-trailers are special semi-trailers designed with a container-specific bearing structure at the cargo area. They mainly serve supporting logistics systems including ships, ports, routes, highways, transfer stations, bridges and tunnels, acting as core road vehicles in the global multimodal transport network.
This type of semi-trailer is specially used for transporting various containers, can be reused for a long time and has sufficient structural strength. When transporting goods with container semi-trailers, goods can be loaded directly at the consignor's warehouse and unloaded at the consignee's warehouse. There is no need to take goods out of the container when transferring between trucks and ships, greatly reducing intermediate links, cargo damage and labor costs.
Container semi-trailers support fast loading and unloading and can be conveniently transferred between different means of transport. They facilitate full loading and emptying of goods and meet customers' personalized transportation needs. With customized tooling guarantees, products feature stable quality and reliable performance.
In the early stage of container transportation, due to small load capacity and limited quantity, containers were mostly transported by ordinary trucks. Since the 1960s, with the rapid development of container transportation, countries have successively developed special transport vehicles. The loading area of container semi-trailers is sized strictly according to standard container specifications, and twist locks are installed at the four corners of the chassis to fix the container. Common types include semi-trailer, full trailer and double trailer, among which semi-trailers are the most widely used. Semi-trailers are divided into flatbed type and skeleton type. The flatbed type has a platform and can also carry ordinary long and large goods. The skeleton type has no platform, and the container is directly mounted on the chassis frame and fixed by twist locks, forming a strength component of the semi-trailer with lighter weight and stronger specialization.
