A flatbed trailer, also known as a full trailer, is different from a full trailer in that its chassis is much lower than that of a full trailer. In equipment handling, flatbed trailers are also used to transport heavier equipment, loose parts, etc., and are also an indispensable equipment for equipment handling.
Types of flatbed trailers
According to their usage functions, flatbed trailers can be divided into four categories. One is the flatbed trailer used in ports and industrial mines, which is characterized by long length, large load capacity, and strong bending resistance. The second type is a four-wheel steering flatbed trailer, which has a small turning radius and is suitable for use in some enterprises with limited space. The third type is an ultra-low flatbed trailer, which has a very low chassis and is often less than 50 centimeters above the ground, making it convenient for forklifts to unload directly from the trailer. The fourth type is bulk cargo flatbed trailer, which is mainly used for the transfer of short distance bulk cargo. Multiple trailers can be connected and used together, and are mostly used in train stations, yards, consignment stations, express delivery companies, etc.

The application of flatbed trailers in equipment handling
In equipment handling, four different types of flatbed trailers are used. For some large machinery and equipment that cannot be disassembled, port flatbed trailers will be used for transportation. In addition, this type of flatbed trailer has been approved by the transportation department and is capable of driving on highways. Therefore, it can also be used for medium to long-distance road transportation of large equipment.
If equipment is transferred and transported within the factory area, four-wheel steering flatbed trailers may also be used. Compared to full trailers, the turning radius of four-wheel steering flatbed trailers can be reduced by 20%. Including small equipment handling and bulk cargo handling, Suzhou handling companies will use ultra-low flatbed trailers or bulk cargo flatbed trailers.
