The number of gallons transported
Regular capacity: The tank volume of a three-axle oil tank semi-trailer is usually 8,000 - 12,000 gallons. Due to its light self-weight, the volume of an aluminum alloy tank often approaches 12,000 gallons; the carbon steel tank is slightly heavier, and its volume is mostly 8,000 - 10,000 gallons. Subject to the requirements of safe loading in the design standards, the compliant loading amount generally does not exceed 10,000 gallons (about 37,850 liters) to reserve space for the expansion of the medium.
Medium differences: The density of gasoline is about 0.7 - 0.78 grams per cubic centimeter. Due to its low density, the actual loading amount can approach the upper limit of the tank; the density of diesel is about 0.81 - 0.85 grams per cubic centimeter. Due to its higher density and the vehicle weight limit, the number of gallons will drop to 8,500 - 9,500. For media with a higher density like crude oil, the loading amount may be even lower than that of diesel.
Characteristics of Sub-packaging
Packaging Design: The tank body is divided into 2 - 3 independent compartments. High - strength partitions are welded and sealed to prevent mixing. Each compartment is equipped with an independent corrosion resistant valve, which can accurately control the inflow and outflow of the medium. In case of an emergency, it can be quickly cut off to prevent leakage. A high precision flow meter is installed at the metering port to help accurately grasp the loading quantity, and different or the same media can be loaded separately.
Operational Advantages: It can flexibly control the packaging quantity, meet the unloading requirements of multiple stations in a single trip, reduce empty running and lower costs. In case of leakage, the compartment partitions can limit the risk and improve safety.
Applicable Scenarios: Logistics transfer stations can quickly distribute oil to small vehicles. Gas stations can replenish multiple types of oil at one time. Chemical parks can deliver a variety of raw materials, efficiently adapting to multiple scenarios.
