Those who operate chemical tank trailers will notice huge differences brought by different inner anti-corrosion liners. Bad lining options lead to frequent tank repairs, liquid leakage risks and polluted chemical cargo, which will not pass road safety checks either. When we select liners in daily work, three practical factors need to be considered: the type of liquid to transport, working temperature, and constant shaking during long-distance driving.
PE and modified PO liners are popular choices for ordinary transportation with cost control in mind. They can safely carry diluted acid, weak alkali and regular industrial solvents without chemical reactions. These plastic liners have good flexibility, so temperature changes won't easily make them crack. If you transport low-corrosion liquids in relatively hot environments, PP liners perform better as

 

they can bear higher heat.
For strong corrosive goods like concentrated acid and chlorinated solvents, PVDF liners are preferred by many transport crews. It resists oxidant corrosion under 130℃ and won't get damaged from long-time vehicle vibration. Vulcanized butyl rubber suits cargo that wears and corrodes the tank at the same time. Its elastic surface lowers abrasion during transit.
We have a simple rule for picking liners: materials should not deform or break when facing impact and pulling force. Drivers and loading staff need to confirm whether the liner matches the chemical liquid and temperature range before filling tanks.
