Doha, Qatar. Leading logistics service providers operating at Hamad Port have placed a new order for 40ft container skeleton semi-trailers to upgrade their yard transfer capacity and streamline daily terminal operations.

As container throughput keeps rising at Qatar's primary maritime hub, local carriers are expanding their heavy-duty chassis fleet to cut container dwell time and improve cargo movement between berths, stacking yards and inland distribution points. LUYI AUTO won the supply contract after rigorous evaluation focused on structural strength, heat resistance and compliance with GCC vehicle standards.

These 3-axle skeleton semi-trailers are specially built for continuous round-the-clock port operations. Equipped with heavy-duty automatic twist locks, dual-line air brake system and ABS, the chassis can carry a maximum load of 60 tons for 40ft standard and high cube containers. Anti-corrosion surface coating is applied to withstand the coastal salt spray and extreme high temperatures prevailing in Qatar. The mechanical spring suspension ensures stable running on uneven yard pavement and reduces frame fatigue under frequent lifting and handling cycles.

Local logistics operators commented that skeleton trailers are essential terminal equipment. The newly delivered units will seamlessly match gantry cranes and reach stackers, helping speed up container handover and lower maintenance downtime.

The fleet upgrade forms part of Qatar's broader logistics development strategy. With Hamad Port expanding its transshipment business, local transport firms will continue investing in reliable container handling equipment. LUYI AUTO's export representative stated that the trailer design is fully customized for Gulf operating conditions, and both sides are discussing potential follow-up orders.

The deployment of the new semi-trailer fleet is set to lift overall terminal productivity and strengthen Qatar's position as a vital regional cargo transfer centre.
