This specification specifies the on-site cleaning and sterilization operating rules for stainless steel tank trailers used for edible oil transportation. It is formulated to solve practical on-site problems including internal oil residue, layered organic dirt accumulation and bacterial reproduction in tank bodies. Most transport fleets carry different types of edible oil in successive trips, which easily leads to cross-contamination between different oil products. Strict implementation of the daily cleaning and sterilization operations specified herein can effectively avoid such safety risks. All adopted cleaning and sterilization methods comply with local food safety regulatory requirements and have been verified and widely applied in actual edible oil transportation scenarios.
Before conducting official sterilization work, staff must complete a full pre-cleaning inspection. All residual edible oil inside the tank shall be completely drained. Special attention shall be paid to the tank inner wall, welding seams and internal dead corners, where thick aged grease and solid dirt are prone to accumulate and harden. On-site operators need to fully open all tank valves and drain holes to ensure no residual oil is trapped in any hidden parts. To prevent scratch damage and surface corrosion to stainless steel tank bodies, only food safety compliant soft cleaning tools are permitted for daily wiping and pre-cleaning work.
In the formal cleaning process, prepare cleaning solution with food-grade neutral or weakly alkaline detergent at a mass ratio of 1% to 2%. Inject the prepared cleaning solution into the sealed tank and start circulating cleaning for 10 to 15 minutes, so as to fully dissolve hardened oil dirt and adhered organic impurities on the tank interior. After the circulating cleaning procedure is finished, repeatedly flush the tank with purified water. The flushing operation can only be stopped when the discharged water is clear and transparent without foam, suspended matter or other impurities, ensuring no cleaning agent residue remains inside the tank.
