LUYI just handed over a batch of custom 8-axle lowbed semi-trailers to a leading Colombian construction firm. These units were built from the ground up to move heavy machinery and core parts for a flagship hydroelectric project in the Andes.
Capable of hauling up to 120 tons, these trailers feature a beefed-up gooseneck, multi-axle steering, and a high-strength steel chassis-all designed to keep heavy loads steady and evenly spread on steep, twisty mountain roads. The hydraulic suspension lets operators dial in the exact platform height, which makes loading and unloading oversized gear like turbines and transformers way less of a hassle.
The Colombian project team was impressed with how LUYI tailored the design to their on-site hurdles, from tight mountain passes to thin high-altitude air. "LUYI's
trailers have totally transformed how we move heavy cargo in this terrain," said the project's logistics manager. "We're slashing transport time and cutting risk at the same time-this is exactly what we needed for a job this tough."
This delivery builds on LUYI's growing presence in Latin America, following successful projects in Brazil, Ecuador, and Suriname. LUYI's team says they'll keep doubling down on making reliable, durable, and fully custom semi-trailers to keep infrastructure projects rolling, no matter where in the world they are.
