Running operations for double-deck car carrier trailers takes careful work, especially when loading and unloading vehicles. All site workers need to follow standard onsite rules and stick to the right working order. Proper use of the trailer's hydraulic lift system and all securing fixtures keeps cars from sliding or crashing, which is essential for safe transport on the road.
A few basic preparations need to be done before starting the loading process. Operators should park the trailer on level, solid terrain. Be sure to engage the parking brake fully and insert wheel chocks to prevent any accidental movement of the trailer. Workers can then operate the hydraulic system to tilt the upper deck and stretch out the rear ramps. Vehicles should be driven onboard at a low speed and positioned properly to maintain even weight distribution across the trailer. After each vehicle is parked, the driver needs to shut off the engine and
activate the handbrake. After filling the upper deck completely, lift the platform and secure its locking system. The lower deck can be loaded following the same practical method. Finish the whole loading procedure by retracting the rear ramps and conducting a full check on all fastening parts.
The unloading procedure is the reverse of loading operations. The lower deck always gets unloaded prior to the upper deck. Site crew will take away wheel chocks and gradually loosen all fixed straps to release vehicles safely. On-site guidance is necessary for drivers to back vehicles slowly down the ramps until the lower deck is fully empty. Once finished with the lower level, workers can lower the locked upper deck, remove all fixing equipment and unload the rest of the vehicles. All handling actions need to be deliberate and stable throughout the entire workflow.
